RE aims to be the first binge-worthy, immersive experience for live and onscreen audiences. A serious / comedic drama of meta-physical proportions.
THE STORY
On the verge of Broadway stardom, Marcus di Pino was ripped from life at 29 by AIDS. Now, with the help of AI technology, theater grit, and a dash of mysticism, a group of artists returns him to his 50th year of life. A life he never got to have. But the one he’s given does not live up to expectations. Marcus demands rewrites. Stifled by the rural Pennsylvania setting, various mid-life defects, and a cast of off-center characters - both real and internal - Marcus revolts against the play and vaporizes the 4th wall.
As Marcus struggles to find his footing, he must solve various mysteries, navigate a play where technology seems to be the only one in charge, and find a way to make something wonderful from the life he’s been given - much like the rest of us. Through a series of adventures with other humans and his integration into a new community, Marcus finally experiences his role as an artist. The surprising things he’ll do with this knowledge is our story.
THE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
If all the world’s a stage, then all the people ought to be in on the action. In this rollicking, timely, and frankly unhinged epic, the audience is invited to experience the thrill of live theater and the agony of its evolution. Performed on a soundstage as an immersive experience over several days, the melodrama of both Marcus’ travails and the machinations of a high-tech theater production unravel via hilarious, poignant, and thrilling surprises. Not just mere spectators, each member of the audience gets to choose their own experience of the show and possibly a shot at stardom.
Through online engagement and live shows, RE is designed to enlist and incorporate each audience member. Ultimately, RE suggests a creative and communal template for celebrating art’s inspirational virality, consciousness and grief.
